News Release: Immediate Release
May 2015

May All Your Buns Be Iced.

May 2015 will see Fife based designer maker, artist and illustrator Claire Heminsley launching work from her collections of home wares and unique one off framed textiles pieces.

Trading under the name Incahoots, which was launched in 1986, Heminsley will be presenting her ever popular scraper board prints as well as screen prints and tea towels.

Heminsley has also been commissioned to design work for private and corporate clients. A recently commissioned example of Heminsley’s scraper board work can be seen in The Glasshouse contemporary boutique hotel situated in Greenside Row, Edinburgh.

‘Drawing is at the centre of all my work; I don’t work with any specific technique as I enjoy working with a variety of media to express my ideas and concerns in the most appropriate way. Although it is not always obvious a narrative is always there, this is as a consequence of being curious about people, their stories and the connections we all have.’

Fiona McIntosh , co-owner of Concrete Wardrobe added “Claire’s work has a distinctive humorous story telling element, which appeals to our varied customer base.  This, combined with her distinctive use of line in the drawn and stitched mark gives her work a unique place within Concrete Wardrobe ”

Heminsley is also part of a voluntary organisation that runs ‘Off the Rails Arthouse’ at Ladybank Station in Fife where Heminsley also teaches a variety of workshops and masterclasses as well as throughout Scotland.

Concrete Wardrobe is from Monday to Saturday 11am to 7pm and Sunday 12 - 5pm.
