We love these fantastic prints which are printed directly onto ceramic tiles, making wonderful coasters. These coaster will cheer up any coffee table and are produced by Edinburgh based Gillian Norval. You can mix and match the designs to make up your own personal favorites all of which come boxed making them an ideal gift!
This month we have not one BUT two Makers Of The Month who also happen to be the co-owners of Concrete Wardrobe, please read and pass on the two enclosed e-flyers, both of which detail their latest product ranges.
We look forward to seeing you and your friends in Concrete Wardrobe to few their full ranges of work, as well as all the latest quality products that have been arriving from our brilliant Scottish based and trained designer makers and crafts folk!

Fiona and James co owners of Concrete Wardrobe are back from The Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show and by all accounts it was a successful show for both them and the other Scottish based makers. The above link is an interview that James did with the Culture Cafe on Radio Scotland on his return, the interview is at 40.06.
Please share this link with all interested parties!

This month there are a whole host of new scarf designs at Concrete Wardrobe, in fabric combinations I never knew existed. Triple structured with reflective yarn, silk jersey, fringed wool voile, and my personal favourite; wool lycra buttoned mufflers. An outdoorsy take on the upcoming collar trend. Wearable for us in the northern hemisphere whos neckwear needs also to keep our necks warm.
This is a wee preview of the new whisky glasses designed by James Donald, co-owner of Concrete Wardrobe, which will be appearing this November as this months Maker of the Month. Also featured in this regular slot will be the wearable collections of new and exclusive silk screened pieces by Concrete Wardrobes other co-owner Fiona McIntosh under her label "Tessuti".
Going under his weave label "PickOne" this glass collection has been engraved by Dundee based company "White & Sharp Glass Engravers," with each piece having been designed using i-phone apps and taken from original drawings made while on research trips to the Uists and the Shetland Islands before being translated in glass. This process has also been used to translate designs into digitally printed scarves, which are also available exclusively in the UK at Concrete Wardrobe. Each glass comes ready packaged in a handsome presentation box, making it an ideal Christmas gift!
These pieces will be featured in the Concrete Wardrobe window display along side new treble cloth structured hand woven scarves made from linen, lambswool and reflective yarns which shimmer in the fading light. AMAZING!
Both Fiona and James will also be promoting this and other works at the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show next week along side 23 other leading Scottish based crafts folk with Edinburgh based Craftscotland.
This is a very exciting departure and one which we are very happy to promote as part of our Maker of the Month series.
